Photo-Chemical Genetics
Conditional Control of Gene Expression with Light When and Where You Want It™
The Photo-Chemical Genetics System™ from SuperNova Life Science is an integrated reagent and instrumentation platform that gives you conditional control over the time and location of gene and protein activity in your biologic system.
At the core of the Photo-Chemical Genetics System™ are biologically-active molecules that are inactivated or ‘caged’ with a photo-chemical ‘light switch.’ Exposure to a specific wavelength of light turns ‘on’ the light switch by releasing the cage from the active molecule, thereby restoring its biological activity.
Irradiation can be performed with temporal precision and with cell-scale resolution using the micro-mirror based SNLS2200 Light Activation System™. In translucent model organisms such as zebrafish, this means exceptional spatio-temporal control over genes and proteins during development.
