Automated Photo-Chemical Genetics • Cell-Scale Precision
The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ delivers both high-performance instrumentation and software as part of the Photo-Chemical Genetics System™ platform from SuperNova Life Science. The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ brings the power of over a million micron-scale mirrors to direct light and control proteins and genes anytime and anywhere you desire with cell-scale spatial precision, and the convenience of automation. Using caged reagents that release active chemical modulators of biologic molecules when illuminated with light and advanced optics previously available only in semi-conductor manufacturing equipment, the SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ gives you total spatial and temporal control over the activity of proteins and genes in your model organism (e.g. zebrafish, C. elegans and drosophila). With an easy and intuitive point-and-paint user interface visible both in the microscope oculars and on the monitor, you can now probe the spatial and temporal role of nearly any protein or gene.
SNLS 2200 Light Activation Instrument™ (Cat. No. 9001). The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ has been specifically engineered to be compatible with thousands of photo-chemical modulators available only from SuperNova Life Science™. The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ is designed to conduct high-throughput light targeting on single glass slides, as well as on a 96-well microtiter plates. The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ incorporates state-of-the-art Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) light control, custom high-resolution optics and advanced stage automation for high-throughput activation schemes. The DMD in the SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ independently moves millions of micron-scale mirrors to direct unique light patterns onto a specimen with cell-scale resolution. SNLS 2200 Software Suite™ (Cat. No. 9002). The SNLS 2200 Light Activation System™ includes powerful custom developed operating and application software that lets you focus on biology, not instrumentation. A user-friendly graphical interface enables intuitive control of all instrument functions. Select areas for uncaging by simple point-and-paint while looking either at the monitor or in the microscope objectives. Intuitively build and save ‘light cycles’ to perform any arbitrary number of automated light-activation and image-capture steps anywhere in a 96-well microtiter plate over the course of minutes to hours and even days. Easily develop high-throughput data collection schemes to accelerate your research program to the next level.
